abstract
In this article we present the results of two surveys on mental health among students and PhD candidates in Spanish Archaeology, aiming to raise awareness about the issue. Our aim is to analyse the relationship between mental health, the academic career and professionalization practices in the Spanish university. Our results indicate the existence of numerous mental health issues among students and PhD candidates, and suggest that gender, workload and the lack of prospective jobs are determining factors leading to suffering mental health issues.
